From one rooftop to integrated electrification.

SUN began in 2016 with an off-grid solar system for a rural community in Sumatra. Since then it has grown into a clean energy developer for Indonesian industry, with projects in more than 30 cities.

Industry needed more than panels. Fleets still ran on diesel, and every asset came with its own contract. So SUN brought power and mobility together: SUN Energy generates and stores clean power on site, and SUN Mobility electrifies the fleets that run on it.

Both are designed, financed, built and operated by SUN, under one contract and with no upfront cost. SUN Foundation brings the same energy to remote villages.

The challenges behind industrial energy decisions.

Conditions on the ground that determine what an energy transition can realistically achieve in industrial operations.

  • 01 · ENERGY COSTS

    High and volatile energy costs

Electricity and diesel take a growing share of operating costs.

  • 02 · REMOTE DIESEL

    Diesel dependency at remote sites

Off-grid operations rely on generators with high fuel, logistics and maintenance costs.

  • 03 · EMISSION TARGETS

    Pressure to meet emission targets

Buyers, lenders and regulators expect measurable decarbonisation.

  • 04 · FLEET FUEL

    Fuel-intensive fleet operations

Diesel trucks and vehicles add to both cost and emissions.

Designed around industrial operating conditions.

  1. Solar PV

Rooftop and ground-mounted solar installed on site. Generation is sized to daytime operating load, which reduces grid and diesel consumption.

  2. Battery storage (BESS)

Battery storage holds surplus solar output for use after sunset and during peak demand. At remote sites, it reduces generator runtime and keeps critical loads running.

  3. EV charging

DC fast and megawatt charging for heavy vehicles, installed at depots, mine sites and distribution hubs. Charging can draw on solar and stored power.

  4. Electric fleet

Electric trucks, buses and light vehicles supplied under the MOVE OPEX scheme, with charging and maintenance arranged in one contract.

  5. EMS / FMS platform

Energy and fleet data brought into one dashboard for monitoring, optimisation and emission reporting. Client teams access performance data through Client Login.

MOVE OPEX

Electric vehicles on a monthly fee, with charging and maintenance arranged in the same contract.

Ask about MOVE OPEX

Applied across industrial operations.

Configured for the sites, loads and fleets of core industrial sectors.

A mine site cut as a block of ground: soil layers on the faces, an open pit stepping down into the front corner with an excavator and electric haul trucks on the benches and a charging station at the pit floor, and on the plateau the site office, a charging bay with parked haul trucks, a solar field, a substation under the transmission line, battery storage containers and the control building, linked by the site power network.
  1. Solar PV field

Ground-mounted arrays sized to camp and processing loads reduce the diesel burned by site generators.

  2. Battery storage

Stored solar output carries night load and covers demand peaks, so the generators stay on standby.

  3. Charging

Charging bays on the plateau and at the pit floor recharge haul trucks during shift change and crib breaks.

  4. Electric haul fleet

Electric haul trucks, excavators and light vehicles supplied under the MOVE OPEX scheme.

  5. EMS / FMS

Energy, fleet and emission data from across the site in one dashboard.
